Hi everyone, starlingchat is in the process of its own domain name!! So we will be easier to find, so pass the word on to all starling folk!! starlingchat.com SINCE THERE IS SO LITTLE ACTIVITY ON OUR BOARD, I WON'T BE RENEWING THE DOMAIN NAME, SO THE SITE WILL REVERT TO THE OLD URL IN MARCH: starlingchat.proboards.com/index.cgi?

Well, it looks like Starling Chat is a priivate board for you and me. How have you been? We have had our ups and downs and I hope we have no more downs for awhile. We lost a family member to cancer and two friends in rather short succession. I am back teaching environmental education on Mt. Diablo and surrounding areas. Hear Oklahoma was in the tornado path. Hope you are all ok. PR-b

yeah, seems that starlingchat is fading, thought it might pick up when they start nesting- things are good here, busy, sometimes would like just a quiet day or two- i am sorry to hear of your losses- how is princess? mine are doing good, gg makes a point of clearing my desk every morning- amazing how far he can fling a paintbrush!! for some reason i don't get notifications of posts... so i try to pop in and check weekly- any word on metro?

Is this the new site for Starlingtalk? If it is it took me awhile to find it, and then get into it. Maybe alot of people on the old site got turned off by the process.

Glad to see you here!! i was so sad to see the old site disappear, so this one was made, and i bought the domain name hoping others could find us.... its been so slow going... there were 2 boards for starlings, starlingchat and starling talk- this was a continuation of starlingchat, but folks just faded away... tell us about your baby!

I am raising six starlings and they are flying. One looked at the dish and almost ate from it. When can I release them? They are 20 days old. Thanks.

They need to be eating on their own before release. If you can release them into an existing flock of wild starlings that would be the best.

Most amazing thing happened to me yesterday. I was outside of a store and a starling landed on my shoulder and started to try and eat my earring. I have a pet parrot at home so I started making the noises that I make with my bird and the little guy loved it. I was so shocked, he let me hold him in my hand and pet his back. After 2 or 3 minutes he flew away. I have never seen anything like this.

I was quite excited when I found this forum, but now I see all the posts are very old. What a disappointment.

You are right most of the posts are quite old. I seem to be the only one who answers questions anymore. I can tell you the guidelines described here are up to date and reliable. If you follow them you should have a happy and healthy bird. prb

What a shame this page is now inactive! I’m raising my second starling and would love to chat! I just found this forum too. I have a 10 week old starling that I am very much enjoying raising.!! His name is Dobby!
