What do you guys use for bird baths? Currently I'm using a glass pie pan, but they make a huge mess with it. They both think they need to get in there at the same time. Has anyone tried using a milk jug with a hole cut in the side? I was thinking of cutting a large hole in one of sides and using duct tape around the edges so it won't cut their feet. Do you think they would go in there? Any ideas for a homemade enclosed bath would be greatly appreciated.

I think the milk jug is a good idea! We use a regular bowl and hold it under warm running water and our starling jumps in to bathe. Yes, he is a bit pampered but what I can say he's our baby!! Sometimes he also jumps in his water dish.

we have dog bowls in each of the cages, and they are in plastic bins to catch the water- and then if there are dishes in the sink with bubbles, nothing is safe! they have free flight in the morning, then return to their baths about noon-

Well my milk jug idea didn't work, they just wouldn't go into it. My daughter said 'Maybe you can put something over the pie pan' which gave me an idea. I had the plastic top from a cheese cake I bought at Walmart. I cut the center out of it leaving just a rim around the top, then I duct taped it to the pie pan. I put it in there and with in 5 mins both were in there. It doesn't stop all of the mess, but it does catch most of it.
